Roundhouse offers a range of high quality products in a range of species. The primary source of Roundhouse products is the Queen Charlotte Islands located off the Northern coast of British Columbia.

Logs for Log Homes

Roundhouse’s Western Red Cedar Logs for Log Homes are exceptional softwood material ideal for handcrafted log home construction. Western Red Cedar is lightweight, extremely durable, long lasting and very easy to work with. Our Western Red Cedar logs include many of the character pieces that today’s builders are looking for in a house log.

Utility Poles

Roundhouse’s Western Red Cedar poles are available in both distribution and transmission lengths. Cedar provides an extremely durable, climbable pole, and unlike other species, Cedar’s heartwood produces chemical compounds called extractives that naturally resist decay, fungi and insects. Western Red Cedar can withstand extreme desert temperature, mountain snowfall, high winds and rain assuring a long service life.

Western Red Cedar and Alaskan Yellow Cedar are Roundhouse’s flagship products. Red Cedar makes up less than 10% of British Columbia’s total growing stock, and is a valuable commercial species. The unique properties of both Western Red Cedar and Alaskan Yellow Cedar make it ideal for many applications. These include, but are not limited too: naturally weather-resistant siding, decking, posts, fences, and even ship and boat building.

Round Posts - Yellow Cedar

Alaskan Yellow Cedar (AYC) is one of the world’s most durable woods. It has exceptional natural qualities – resistance to weather, insects and contact with soil – as well as dimensional stability. It’s considerably harder than other commercial softwoods and its strength makes it superior to other species. Untreated Alaskan Yellow Cedar Posts and Dowels are ideal for all organic applications and in situations that soil contamination from treated wood is a concern.
